Delta Announced As Patron Of Garvan St Vincent's New Cancer Center

Delta Goodrem will be Patron of the Garvan St Vincent's new Cancer Centre, helping to drive the capital fundraising campaign. Delta said: "As a former cancer patient I know how important it is to have access to the latest research, new treatments and a multidisciplinary team of experts - to help you through the journey. I want to see this come to life in the Centre and I feel very proud to be able to contribute".

Delta's latest way of giving back to the community is by taking up the role of Patron of the future Garvan St Vincent's Campus Cancer Centre.

This will be located in Darlinghurst, Sydney, but will be accessible to
cancer patients in rural and regional areas too.

Building the Centre - a place where the latest research and the best care can be brought together to achieve more personalized treatment for cancer patients - is going to take $100m and is at least a two-year project.

Delta is taking on the challenge of helping raise these funds, and in 2009 her fans can too through participating in a range of community fundraising options that are under development now.

These will be posted on the Garvan website in early 2009 at www.garvan.org.au.
